The Clinical and Translational Science (CTS) T32 program equips predoctoral students and postdoctoral fellows with the skills to advance the translation of discoveries into improved patient outcomes and health policy. Qualified trainees interested in pursuing research in any of the phases of translation are encouraged to apply to either the predoctoral or postdoctoral track.

1. Translational Science Skills Training

   Trainees receive rigorous training in translational science principles through a new, hands-on Translational Science Skills Laboratory, working through case-based scenarios in small groups that mix T32 predoctoral students, T32 postdoctoral fellows, and K12 Scholars, to build the core characteristics of a translational scientist: domain expertise, systems thinking, and the ability to cross disciplinary boundaries.

2. Multidisciplinary Mentoring

   Trainees are guided by a multidisciplinary mentoring team as they conduct a translational research project from conceptualization to completion.

3. Career Development

   Trainees' future goals are supported by a new course, Leading and Managing Translational Science Teams, an annual CTSI Career Development Symposium, and training in how to disseminate their research widely.
