ICRE Alum and Current Faculty Member Earns Mid-Career Faculty Achievement Award

Gretchen Shelesky, MD, MS, was named a recipient of the 2021 Mid Career Faculty Achievement Award at the Family Medicine Education Consortium Annual Meeting held in Pittsburgh on October 8-10, 2021. This award honors mid-career faculty members who have demonstrated significant achievement in curricular innovation, scholarship, or program leadership that has advanced the field of family medicine. Dr. Shelesky was described in the nomination letter as a "consummate clinician, academician, teacher, researcher and caring human being" who possesses a "spirit of sharing, transparency and love of education that has increased the access to ongoing faculty development for all teachers and clinicians of family medicine."

Dr. Shelesky is the Director of the Faculty Development Fellowship, the Associate Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency, and the Director of the Private Practice Initiative, all at UPMC St. Margaret. She is an alumna of the ICRE's Master of Science in Medical Education Program ('10) and currently directs the ICRE's Medical Education course entitled "Current Topics in Teaching and Learning – A Seminar Series" To learn more about Dr. Shelesky's award, please visit this page.
