The Design, Biostatistics, and Clinical Research Ethics (DBE) Core of the University of Pittsburgh Clinical and Translational Science Institute is available to help PhD students overcome the barriers they face in finding and receiving appropriate data management, biostatistical, and epidemiological help and ethical guidance for their research.

The Center for Research on Health Care (CRHC) Data Center is available to provide data management and biostatistical support for PhD student research projects. The Data Center has Web designers, programmers, and biostatisticians in areas of expertise ranging from statistical genetics to longitudinal data analysis.

The Course in Scientific Management and Leadership is an interactive 3-day workshop for postdoctoral and clinical fellows and junior faculty members in the schools of the health sciences. The course is designed to provide insight into leadership and team building and to offer direction about how to develop and manage a scientific laboratory or research program, how to improve productivity, and how to enhance creativity and innovation. The course offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse and multidisciplinary group of senior faculty members and to network with both basic and clinical researchers from across the schools of the health sciences.
