Clinical Scientist Training Program (CSTP) for Medical Students
  • For University of Pittsburgh medical students
  • This highly competitive program, funded by the Office of the Dean of the School of Medicine, offers full and partial tuition scholarships for a 5-year joint MD/MS or Certificate in clinical research in which formal coursework is augmented by seminars and mentored research.
Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship Program
  • For University of Pittsburgh medical students and medical students from other U.S. medical schools
  • This nationally-recognized program, funded jointly by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and the Office of the Dean of the School of Medicine, offers a $27,000 stipend and tuition for the Certificate in clinical research to students conducting mentored clinical research at the University of Pittsburgh between the 3rd and 4th year of medical school.
Pre-doctoral Fellowship in Clinical and Translational Research (NIH T32, Kapoor PI)
  • For medical students who have completed at least 3 years of medical school and who want to spend 1 year (between MS-3 and MS-4) completing a Master of Science degree or a certificate in clinical and translational science. (CSTP students are eligible to apply).
  • This fellowship provides stipend and partial tuition support for one year of multidisciplinary clinical and translational research.
Pre-doctoral Fellowship in Aging Research (NIH T32, Studenski PI)
  • For medical students who have completed 2 or 3 years of medical school and who have been involved in the geriatrics AOC are preferred, but others with related interests are welcome to apply.
  • This fellowship provides stipend and partial tuition support for one year of aging research.

  • For medical students who have completed at least 3 years of medical school (preferred).
