Fellowship in Innovation

Program Summary

The Fellowship in Innovation in the CTS Fellowship offers individualized training, financial support, and mentoring to pre-doctoral and post-doctoral trainees pursuing the entire spectrum of translational science (Tl - T4) who are interested in learning more about commercialization and the potential to commercialize their products. This fellowship provides supplementary training for fellows interested in innovation with an opportunity to complete a sequence of courses in the Institute for Clinical Research Education (ICRE) MS in Clinical Research Innovation Track. We are seeking trainees who are interested in further developing new methods, ideas, and/or products, with the intent or interest in translating their innovation to market via licensing or generating a company. Prospective fellows will have the opportunity to investigate intellectual property, various distribution channels, and develop a business plan with the ultimate goal of commercializing their innovation. Accepted Fellows in Innovation will be required to take the Idea 2 Impact course, Benchtop to Bedside course, and an innovation externship. Fellows will also be encouraged to complete other courses within the MS in Clinical Research Innovation Track course sequence as scheduling permits.


Applicants must submit a brief application through the ICRE website, including a description of their proposed innovation and commercialization project (including how it relates to their current research), CV, and letters of support from prospective mentors and departmental directors.
