The TL1 Clinical and Translational Science (CTS) Fellowship is offered by the ICRE and the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI). It provides rigorous translational research training to qualified pre- and post-doctoral students who are able to effectively create innovative ways to advance research from the initial discovery through improved patient outcomes and health policy.
Each Fellow should conduct one or more translational research projects under the mentorship of a multidisciplinary team comprised of exceptional scientists.
Fellows’ research should encompass:
- the entire spectrum of translational science (T1 – T4) from initial T1 clinical translation to clinical trials
- research dealing with health services, comparative effectiveness, community- and population-based, and health policy research
Training for this 1-year fellowship is personalized to the interest of each CTS Fellow depending on their particular phase of translational research (T1-T4).
Research interests can include, but are not limited to:
- minority health/diversity
- health services research and policy
The overarching goal of this program is to speed the translation of discoveries and improve the efficiency with which these discoveries are implemented in practice.
