CLRES 2074: Seminar for Understanding Principles and Practices of Research Techniques (SUPPORT): Medical Student Longitudinal Seminar

The CLRES 2074: Seminar for Understanding Principles and Practices of Research Techniques (SUPPORT): Medical Student Longitudinal Seminar is a forum for students to present their work in various stages—from the identification of a research question to the presentation of completed work. The purpose is to provide opportunities for students to practice their public speaking skills, to share their work with colleagues, and to receive constructive feedback on research design and analysis. Attendance at 100% of seminars is expected. Students who fall below two-thirds attendance (66.7%) will lose their CSTP scholarship.* All seminars are held on Fridays from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.

*The two-thirds attendance requirement is a minimum to protect students' good standing in the program. However, students generally attend nearly 100% of the seminars. Students may miss seminars for any reason, including illness, and no "excused" absences are offered. That is, up to one-third of absences are "excused" in advance. If an illness or disability requires a student to miss more than one-third of the seminars, the student should refer to the University of Pittsburgh disability policy for information.
